100% pure all natural Canadian maple syrup bottled on site at the maple syrup producers facilities. Maple syrup is a natural product produced from the sap of sugar maple trees. Sap is boiled and concentrated to produce this product and no added flavours or preservatives are found in this product.

Unopened maple syrup will last a minimum of 3 years but should be refrigerated when opened. A great alternative to processed white sugar maple syrup can be used to substitute simply add just 3/4 of the amount you would normally use.

Darker Colour, Stronger Taste

Maple syrup is produced within a very short period of the year in spring when the maple trees come back to life after being dormant through the winter period. At the start of the season the sap that is produced from the sugar maple trees is boiled to produce a lighter coloured syrup whilst later on through the season as it draws to a close the syrup becomes darker in colour.

As a guide maple syrup is graded by the colour as either –

  • “Golden, Delicate Taste”
  • “Amber, Rich Taste”
  • “Dark, Robust Taste”, or
  • “Very Dark, Strong Taste”

When choosing maple syrup it is recommended that you always choose products shown as real natural maple syrup and not labelled maple syrup substitutes normally labelled as “pancake syrup”. Maple syrup substitutes offer non of the health benefits of real maples syrup and are generally made from refined corn syrup with added flavouring.

Research by the USDA (United States Department Of Agriculture) shows that maple syrup contains in every 100 gram portion 7% RDA calcium, 6% RDA potassium, 7% RDA iron, 28% RDA zinc, and  28% RDA of manganese, making it a brilliant substitute for refined or processed sugars. Maple syrup also contains compounds that have been shown to prevent cancer, boost the bodies immune system and slow signs of ageing.

Colour = Difference In tasteAt the start of the maple season the maple syrup produced is a lighter colour than at the end of the season.
